ABOUT JESSE WILLIAMS...
Jesse Williams is a multi-award winning Director, working in Brighton, England. As a filmmaker, she is interested in narratives that challenge, and stories that represent. Her films often feature themes of femininity, oppression, trauma, and queer identities. Her influences include Celine Sciamma, Andrea Arnold, Lynne Ramsay, David Lynch & Jane Schoenbrun.

She debuted in 2022 with 'One More Song', a film about misogyny and toxic masculinity in the music industry, a film that proved to be a festival success. She has continued to make increasingly ambitious works, including the intimate 'Positive', a drama about female reproductive rights, 'Rebirth' a Folk Horror metaphor for trans-feminine identities. and most recently, 'The Sewing Circle', a Noir Thriller following Lesbian actresses in the Golden Age of Hollywood.

In 2022, Jesse won 'Best Director' at the Brighton Rocks 48 Hour Challenge. In 2023, she was titled Brighton Rocks' 'Standout Filmmaker', for her Feminist spin on the Noir genre, 'The Sewing Circle'.
